Administration
India’s administration is a federal system with a division of power between the central government and state governments. The central government is headed by the Prime Minister and is responsible for national issues such as defense, foreign affairs, and economic policies. The President of India is the ceremonial head of state, with real executive powers vested in the Prime Minister and the Cabinet. At the state level, each state has its own government led by a Chief Minister, with authority over local matters like education, healthcare, and infrastructure. The Parliament of India, consisting of the Lok Sabha (House of the People) and Rajya Sabha (Council of States), plays a key role in lawmaking. The judiciary, independent of the executive, ensures laws are followed, with the Supreme Court being the highest judicial authority. India’s administrative structure also includes various government departments, ministries, and civil services that help implement policies and governance.
